Delft Blue Dreams
A beautiful 3 tiered cake inspired by Holland’s Delft Blue pottery. Iced smooth with Buttercream icing, fondant appliqués were then applied and individually hand painted with a design emulating the floral designs used in Delft Blue pieces. Piping was added to finish the artwork. A different design was used for each tier adding a bit more authenticity and interest to the overall beauty of the cake. The rose that crowns the cake, although painted with touches of blue to match the Delft blue design is the yellow rose of Texas. Although, this cake was designed for the 70th birthday of a very special lady to commemorate her life in Holland and Texas, it would be a truly stunning wedding cake as well. |
